A Special Meeting of Members and Stakeholders of the Club will be held in the Clubhouse at 7.30pm on Wednesday May 17 2017.
It will be one of the most important meetings in the history of the
Club as the work of over 60 volunteers on a 5 year Strategic Vision
for the Club will be presented for your support and participation.
Every element in the life of the Club, with rugby at its core, has
been reviewed to learn from the past and to perform to our best in
an ever changing environment with fresh volunteers and renewed
focus.
The Vision for the next 5 years is challenging and exciting and
obviously rugby is at its core. We need a crystal clear focus on
our rugby ambition and to create the optimum environment to
achieve that ambition. That ambition will be supported by dynamic
and detailed plans in all key areas such as Finance, Junior Rugby,
Minis and Youths, Ladies Rugby, Infrastructure, Membership,
Fundraising, Sponsorship and Communication.
It will be clear on the night that Blackrock College RFC is the rugby
club in the country best placed to realise its ambitions and to build
on its links with the School and community and to build on recent
improvements in facilities.
The Club has been fortunate to have had the generous time of
Michael Cawley formerly Deputy Chief Executive of Ryanair and
current Chairman of Failte Ireland as Chair of the Strategic Steering
Group. Michael will speak at the meeting and will give his
objective, independent and incisive observations on the planning
process, the challenges facing the Club and the various elements of
the Strategic Vision.
It is however our vision and plan and our future so if you care about
your Club and the next phase in its development it is vital that you
attend and encourage your friends to attend this most important
meeting.
Yours in Rugby,
The Executive and Strategic Steering group
