Join Blackrock College RFC for our Annual Club Dinner on Friday 10th May at Stradbrook. Guests are invited to arrive at 645pm, for a 730pm dinner service. This year we are pleased to welcome 2 guest speakers, Gordon D'Arcy and Darren Cave.
Gordon D’Arcy is Ireland’s longest serving rugby player with an impressive international career that spanned over 15 years. A stalwart of the Leinster Rugby team, Gordon lined out 257 times to become their most capped player (including 104 European Cup matches), scoring 60 tries for the blues along the way. He has represented Ireland on 84 occasions, winning three Triple Crowns, one Six Nations Championship and was also an integral part of the 2009 Grand Slam winning team. He won Player of the Tournament in both 2004 & 2007, was nominated for World Player of the Year in 2004 and also toured twice with the British & Irish Lions, in 2005 & 2009 (winning a cap against Argentina in 2009).
Darren Cave made his debut for Ulster in 2007 and has remained with the province ever since, helping them reach the Heineken Cup final in 2012 and the Pro12 final in 2013, both of which were lost to Leinster. At international level, the outside centre was a member of the Ireland U20 side that won the Grand Slam in 2007 and he subsequently earned 11 caps at senior level. He was a member of the Ireland squad for the 2015 World Cup, making his last appearance in the green shirt against Romania in Wembley in the pool stage. Earlier this month, Cave announced his retirement from professional rugby at the end of the season.
We are thrilled to have both D'Arcy and Cave joining us at the Annual Dinner. In addition to these exciting speakers, we are pleased to offer a 4-course dinner for €45 per guest. To reserve your seat, please contact Erin Dalton on bcrfccom@gmail.com by the 1st of May.
