Another end to another exciting season of rugby at Stradbrook. And what an exciting season it was! Last season our Men's and Women's 1sts dominated the club news, but this year, our other sections took home the silverware!

  • Our Senior Men finished 7th after being promoted the previous 2 seasons in a row, and were the only team in 1B to defeat 1st place St. Mary's College

  • Our Senior Women finished 4th, despite sending 13 club players to represent their country in the Six Nations

  • Our Men's J1's won the Metro Cup after 15 years

  • Our Thirds won the Winters Cup

  • Our U20's had an undefeated season and narrow loss to Seapoint in the Harry Gale Cup semi-final

  • Our Minis & Youth side had strong showings too, from the success of our U10, U12, and U13 boys, to our blended U16 girls team

Off the pitch, we're had some fun-filled events this season as well. From our much-anticipated pre-match lunch before our Men's 1sts played Old Belvedere, to our Race Day in December, to our Golf Classic that just finished on Friday. And while they haven't happened yet this year, we expect this year's camps will exceed our hugely successful inaugural camp last year. Some spaces are still available for this year's camps.

It has been a whirlwind 1 1/2 years and I am so grateful to every player, supporter and sponsor I've worked with in that time who (except for a few) welcomed me with open arms and were happy to share their rugby knowledge and memories with me. I am also eternally grateful to Pat Finn for taking a chance on an American who knew nothing about rugby but was excited to learn.

Massive thank you's to Conor Cleary and Tom Taaffe for always supporting and encouraging me. I'm in awe of your dedication to the club. Thank you too to Hannah O'Connor for helping me manage our social media channels while simultaneously playing rugby for her club and country AND shaping young minds by day. You amaze me!

There is something magical happening at Stradbrook and I'm excited to see how it all continues to unfold in the upcoming seasons. If you're in the area during the week between now and Friday, 7th June, stop by Stradbrook and say hi.

If you know of anyone who might be interested in a part-time job in the office at the club that's a blend of admin and some communications/marketing, let Pat know at rocktickets17@gmail.com.

Thanks for a fun couple of years, BCRFC 💙 See you around Stradbrook next season✌️
