Hello everyone,
Well, Saturday treated us to two great games of rugby.
Our J1 team narrowly lost their rearranged cup quarter final 31 - 36 to DLSP. A great effort by the team, especially with all the late changes that had to be made. Thank you to Mark O Brien, Malcolm Cuffe and all the lads for their efforts during the year. There is only one game left for this team and it's a league play-off fixture for relegation to be scheduled for next week.
The First team travelled to Ballymena last Saturday for their final league game and left with a 34 - 31 win with a great kick in the last minute from James Moriarty. Steve Mc Loughlin started his first game this year and managed two tries. It's a great momentum boost for next Saturday.
So it's all set for a huge weekend coming. The First team play Nenagh in a playoff semi-final in Stradbrook on Saturday. We ask as many people to get down for either the lunch (spaces are still available) or the game to offer support in what will be an epic game. Two very evenly matched teams should provide a cracking contest.
Then on Sunday our Women's First team travel to Galway to play the Plate Final of the AIL Cup. Again, all support welcome as the women aim to collect their second trophy of the season.
Finally, on Sunday the Under 20's play the final of the Harry Gale Cup against league winners and old rivals Greystones. This will also be a very close encounter.
I also wish the very best of luck to our minis teams travelling this weekend. The Under 8s will be heading up to Galway, the Under 10's to Wilmslow, and the Under 11's heading to La Rochelle. I hope you all have a brilliant rugby weekend.
Lastly, our annual Golf Day is taking place this Friday 21st April as a curtain raiser to the big game on Saturday. I wish all the participants the best, and a big thank you to the organizing committee, Ronan Godfrey, Mick Dwan, Neil Keogh, Julie Savage, and Molly Shibley for making this happen.
So, a very nervous but yet exciting weekend in prospect. Hope to see you all there.
See you at the weekend.
